Cowboy from the Goons of Doom Blogs About Their Cali Tour Last Month!!!
“It’s Going to be a sick one!” That was the last email I read from Ryan “Too fast to Die, too loose to live” Immegart, the only guy that the Goons really listen to and that’s only because we have to answer to him when shit goes browntown…
It’d been three years since the Goons had polluted Costa Mesa and we were coming back to put something into the air other than Carbon Monoxide and the reeking acrid scent of oil refinery toxins. We were coming back to rock out dammit!

Costa Mesa hadn’t changed but the Goons of Doom certainly had. Since our last album release “The Story of Dead Barbie and Ghost” we’d moved in all directions playing with different kids, different moods and in different outfits. The bleeding eyes were gone, so was the white blonde chick (replaced by a giant black dude seen below) but the good times were amplified and the walls continued to shake under the unbridled mayhem of kids losing their minds.
Back home the band was experiencing unparalleled and unprecedented opportunity. We were head lining act with the Kings of Leon at the Falls festival, we played atop an Ice cream truck at the Lilly world stage of the Big Day Out alongside Neil Young and the Arctic Monkeys. The drummer from Band of Horses came on board for a few shows (we still can’t remember his name). We were on a mad roll. Our Samoan friend Ray joined the band albeit without a moniker (until we read it on the tele promter while on the Daily Habit with Pat Parnell – Ray of Sunshine as it turns out.) An American tour was the obvious next step. Cue Immegart and Volcoment and shit was up and running in no time.

Two Great White Sharks spotted near Santa Cruz County Beaches!!!
SANTA CRUZ, Calif.—Two great white sharks have been spotted near Santa Cruz County beaches.
Shark researcher Sean Van Sommeran spotted a 16-foot shark off of Manresa State Beach on Friday. That was a day after Ryan Dunlap, of Capitola, video taped a shark at the Seacliff State Beach pier.
Van Sommeran heads the Pelagic Shark Research Foundation in Santa Cruz. He says the two sightings are of different sharks. He says it is not uncommon to see great whites in the area this time of year.
Dunlap was fishing for bass when a 10-foot shark grabbed his bait, pulling Dunlap the length of the pier. The shark shredded his bait before letting go Wednesday.
Dunlap had his digital camera ready when the shark returned on Thursday.
Parks officials say beaches remain open.

Matt Ratt blast's off on the 5'5 Gdeck Landshark II...
Matt "Ratt" Schrodetz gets some air time on the Santa Cruz 5'5 Gdeck Landshark II. The Gdeck is a skateboard inspired surfboard designed by Chris Gallagher. With a kick tail and a cambered platform deck the Gdeck's foot positions create more power, control, better angles and comfort in tight turning situations. The Gdeck has the same amount of board in different more functional places. This design isn't meant to float any better, but to have a thinner rail with equal volume. The benefits of a thinner rail are that of sensitivity, bite, speed and release. The Gdeck works perfect in knee high to over head surf, great for punting huge airs or getting straight up radical. Our team calls this design the skateboard on water. We call it the Gdeck!!! Photo's: Dave Nelson... To see bigger photo's click here
